Following Peggy Farabaugh’s efforts with Monarch butterfly fostering last year, Sharon Zamora, has had some success in continuing the process at the Skibniowsky family farm on Fort Bridgman road. Because of the insect predators that were parasitizing and killing the caterpillars, she set up secure parasite-free outdoor habitats for the developing caterpillars. The first the adult butterfly emerged Sept. 28 from its chrysalis stage. These photos show the stages including caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult.
