‘Hunt’ing Down History, written by the late Barbara Emery Moseley, Vernon historian, is hot off the press and being sold by the Vernon Historians, Inc. Proceeds will help maintain the Chapel on Pond Road and other ongoing projects to preserve the history of the town of Vernon.

‘Hunt’ing Down History’ is the story of one of Vernon’s earliest European settler families, the Hunts. Jonathan Hunt, a Lieutenant Governor of Vermont and builder of the Governor Hunt house, and wife, Lavinah, had five children, four of whom survived to adulthood and became prominent people in their own right, one a congressman representing Vermont in Washington, DC. Their grandchildren went on to become world-renowned architects, artists, writers, physicians, photographers and attorneys.

The books are for sale through the Historians’ Facebook page, Vernon Historians Inc, and their email, vernonvermonthistorians@gmail.com. They are also available at the Museum in the South School on Rt. 142 in South Vernon on Sunday afternoons between 2 and 4 pm through Sept.19th. or at the Cold Brook Store.

The cost is ten dollars per book, plus shipping & handling {$1.80/book} when mailed.
