A note from Mary Ross, Vernon Elementary School principal

It is now past the autumnal equinox but in the spirit of the continuing Major League Baseball season, our students have been hitting it out of the park! In-person and on-screen, students are keeping space, wearing masks, washing hands, and helping one another with kindness and patience. We cannot always see smiles behind masks, however, giggles and happy eyes that crinkle at the corners can be seen all around our community! Families that have children that have not registered to take the bus can register here: LINK.

Through a program offered by the USDA, the Windham Southeast Supervisory Union is now offering FREE MEALS TO ALL CHILDREN 18 AND UNDER. All children are able to receive free meals every day – no matter whether they are attending classes on campus, participating in remote learning, or not enrolled in school. Meals can be served to children directly or picked up by adults caring for children at home.

Pick up locations, including Vernon School and other locations, can be found by visiting the WSESU website here: LINK
