Good morning!

The Windham County Humane Society has secured some grant funding to provide the animal control officer with free topical flea and tick preventatives. This is for local owners only who keep their dogs outside. The animal Control officer will help identify and distribute the preventative treatments. Call the town clerk’s office if you have dog that fits these criteria and is in need.

The Governor Hunt House Community Center has a clothing swap this Saturday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Checkout their website for more information on this event as well as future events. https://www.governorhunt.org/eventdetails

The August primary is coming up on August 11th, 2026. Absentee ballots for those who have requested have started to go out in the mail.  You can request an absentee ballot on you’re my voter page online vote.vermont.gov or by completing the Vermont absentee ballot form in person at the town clerk’s office. If you are sick or have a disability, a ballot can be delivered to your home.  If requesting and returning by mail the deadline is July 31st, 2026.

The Treasurer’s office hours are as follows- Monday through Thursday 7am to 4pm.  The Treasurer can also be reached by phone at 802-257-2141 or 802-257-2140. Also, you can email at vatreas@vernonvt.org or treasurer@vernonvt.org .

Town Clerks office hours are as follows- Monday through Thursday 7am-5pm but is closed between 2-3PM. (and by appointment) You can reach the clerk at 802-257-2139 or email clerk@vernonvt.org.
