Good morning!
The Historical Society of Windham County will hold its Annual Meeting on Friday evening, August 22nd at the NewBrook Fire Station (Route 30, Newfane). A short meeting at 5:30 will be followed by a 6:00 traditional community Potluck (bring a dish to share -- drinks will be provided). The evening's program will begin at 6:45 where former Vermont Secretary of Agriculture, Roger Allbee, will speak about his recently published book, Turning the Soil: 250 Years of Vermont Agriculture. Growing up in Brookline, Vermont on a hilltop dairy farm, Roger has a deep connection to Vermont's agricultural heritage. Come listen as he tells stories about changes in rural communities, farmers' activities, agricultural production, and farm policies over a period of more than 250 years.
The Windham County Sheriff will be hosting a rabies clinic for dogs and cats. Dogs must be leashed and cats in their carriers. $25.00 per vaccine. Saturday September 13th 10am -1pm at the Windham County Sheriff’s dept located on Ferry Road in Brattleboro. I will be there for any Vernon residents needing to register your dogs. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BC1oLNfXC/
