The Vernon Volunteer Fire Department is seeking applications for all positions within the Fire and EMS Services. What’s in it for you ? There is a wide range of positions open, with the Number One requirement being a desire to serve your community. Other requirements for joining the Department:
- Must be 18 years of age or older (unless applying to be a Fire Explorer), no previous training or Fire/EMS service required
- In good standing within the community
- Physically capable of performing the duties for which you are applying for
Available Positions Include:
- Interior / Exterior Firefighter
- Fire Ground Support
- Medical First Responder / EMT
- Administration
- Radio Communications
- Traffic Control
- In House Support Staff (This is a great position for those willing to help at the station during trainings and emergency events, simple things like a hot coffee after a long night out in the cold means a lot to the other members, this role is also vital in making fund raisers successful)
All necessary training and equipment will be provided and funded by the Town of Vernon.

Applications may be picked up at the Vernon Fire Department Wednesday September 23, 2020 between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. We strongly encourage all previous members to apply for a position within the Department. Please feel free to stop by for the application or to ask questions.
