Dog Licenses are due

Dog Licensing time is here again for Vernon Residents.
2024 Dog Licenses and tags are ready. According to Vermont law, all dogs 6 months old and older must be registered with the Town no later than April 1st of every year. If your dog becomes 6 months of age after April 1, you STILL need to register the animal. All current registrations need to be renewed by April 1, 2024
The Town Clerk’s office is open to the public, and you should come to the Clerk’s window. Please contact the office to renew pet(s) license(s) and get their 2024 tag. You can also phone, email, request by postal mail or use the Dropbox at Town Hall. Please mail your payment with the appropriate fee ($13.00 if not spayed or neutered and $9.00 that have been spayed or neutered). We will process your license(s) and return it (them) with this year’s dog tag(s).
We are unable to license an animal without a current rabies vaccine certificate. When the rabies vaccine is updated, send proof of the treatment via email, copy by postal mail, a copy in the Dropbox at Town Hall, or the vet can fax it to us. When received and the appropriate fee paid, we will process the license and send you the tag. The town’s new animal control officer has arranged for a vet to come to Town Hall on the following dates;
 January 29, February 12, February 26, March 11 and March 25. All clinics will be between the hours of 9 and 10 AM, with a cost of $22.00 each. In addition, please check online to verify if any clinics are being held at Tractor Supply, in either Hinsdale or Greenfield.
IF YOUR PET IS NO LONGER WITH YOU, PLEASE CONTACT US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO WE MAY UPDATE OUR RECORDS.
