School budget presentation from School board Article 2, to be Voted March 5th.

Article 4  -   Town budget  Motion by Dale Gassett to divide the question and decision by paper ballot  vote Failed 54 yes 86 No

Town Budget Approved $2,293,880

Article 5  -    Library budget Approved  $133,456

Article 6  -    Library board 3 years- Julie Nevins Elected

Article 7   -   Library Board 3 years  - Nicole Deyo Elected

Article 8  -    Library board 3 years  no one Elected

Article 9   -   Marsh Fund  Committee  James Brown and Sandra Harris Elected

Article 10  -  Memorial Day Committee  Peter and Angela Miller Elected

Article 11  -  Vernon Historians $1,200 for historic preservation educational promotion and insurance Approved

Article 12  -  $25,00- for the professional Services Fund Approved

Article 13  -  $10,000 for the emergency repair/replacement fund   Approved

Article 14  -  $125,000 for the Town Road Upgrading fund Approved

Article 15  -  $40,000 for the Town Culvert fund Approved

Article 16  -  $4,000 for the Town Parking  Lot Maintenance fund Approved

Article 17   - $5,000 for the elderly Assistance fund Approved

Article 18   - $20,000 for the James Cusick Scholarship Fund Approved

Article 19   - $529,685 for items approved in the town’s Capital Plan, $491,159.61 to be raised by taxes Approved

Article 20   - $15,098.72 for the Windham Solid Waste District Assessment Approved

Article 21  -  $34,320 for curbside recycling and  municipal building refuse , with continuation of the residential Pay as You throw program from July through September Approved

Article 22  -  Ending Pay as You Throw and dissolving the Solid waste fund -  Passed over

Article 23  -  Building a Transfer Station $50,000 and $60,000 for part time staff  - Passed over

Article 24  -  $15,000 for the Emergency Management office Approved

Article 25  -  $3,250 for Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Vt and NH   Rejected

Article 26   -  $2,100 for Southeast Community Action  Rejected

Article 27   -  $$6,576 for the Southeastern Vermont Economic Development Strategies for workforce and economic development services  Approved

Article 28   -   $1,850 for Health Care and Rehabilitation Services   Approved

Article 29   -   Payment of real estate and personal property taxes in three installments. September 12, 2024; January 9 and May 1 of 2025   Approved

Article 30   -   The provision of notice of availability of the town report and auditors report  mailed to all registered voters at least 30 days in advance of town meeting as authorized by Vermont title 24 subsection 1682 A2   Approved 

Article 31 -    Other business included general discussion of the town’s Conservation Commission, among other items
