Antioch team completes VY site landscape inventory

A team of graduate students at Antioch University New England in Keene, working with faculty member Christa Daniels, Ph.D., has completed a study entitled “Landscape Inventory of the Vermont Yankee Decommissioning Site.” The study may be viewed and downloaded here.

The site study was recently presented to the Vernon Planning & Economic Development Commission, and will be used as the foundation for a second phase of a planning project, which will be to determine the best uses of the VY site following the completion of decommissioning, which is expected in 2026.

The site study was funded by NorthStar, which is carrying out the decommissioning of the nuclear plant and the rehabilitation of the site. The second phase of the study is largely funded by a Vermont Municipal Planning Grant, and will be completed by September.
